My September Bucket List Update
It’s time for a monthly check in on the things I said I wanted to prioritize this month! I think I say this every month, but I really love making my bucket lists every month and I like that I look back at that as well. Life goes by so fast, it’s nice to find time to do the things I want instead of just talking about them. Honestly, I will look back on September very fondly. It was everything I needed after a fun and fast paced Summer and instead of mourning the loss of Summer, it made me really excited for the rest of Fall and the holiday season.
Overall, I loved September. I got my flu shot and Covid booster, I read an incredible number of books I loved, and I really felt like myself for the first time all year. I struggled a lot in the first half of the year and the magic of Summer and the routine of Fall have put me back together again. It wasn’t a perfect month, but it was a special one and I’m proud of myself.
Here’s a look at my intentions and if they happened!
- Make a Game Day Spread- Yes, every Sunday! We even got to enjoy some games on our friends’ outdoor screen which was totally perfect and I hope the weather allows us to do it into October.
- Bake an Apple Pie- We went apple picking at the end of the month so I haven’t made a pie yet but I did bake some pumpkin chocolate chip muffins and they were delicious and festive.
- Plant Some Mums for a Fall Garden- I didn’t plant them, but I did get some for our patio as well as some adorable mini pumpkins!
- Cleat Out My Closet- I FINALLY did this and boy did it feel good to drop off those donations.
- Clean Out My Books- And I finally did this! I have a ton of books posted on Pango Books, so take a look if you’re in the market for something second hand :)
- Visit the Cider Mill- If you’re ever in the Buffalo area in the Fall, you have to visit Mayer Brothers Cider Mill. Get the apple cider slushie and the apple cider donuts!
- Write Every Day for 30 Days- I did not do this because I decided to try a new writing schedule and it worked! Instead of forcing myself to find time to write every single day, I made Friday-Monday my writing time. It’s been a lot healthier for me and it’s been great for my work productivity because I’m not concerned about my writing.
- Low Spend September- Yeah…did NOT do this. And I’m a little disappointed in myself but next month i am going to focus on it!
- Go Apple Picking- We fit it in right at the end of the month but it was so fun and we had stunning weather for it.
- Plan a Date Night- This was so fun and I’m glad it’s something we’re choosing to prioritize again. We did an at home date night where we made pizza together and watched a new movies, but left our phones in another room. And then we did a date night out! It’s something so small but important, especially when we both work so much.
